A Winter Wonderland to Remember PSI wrapped up 2024 with our biggest celebration to date! With over 500 employees and their dates in attendance, the evening was filled with festive cheer, exciting prizes, and plenty of holiday magic. Delicious catering and an exciting raffle featuring prizes like a TV, YETI coolers, and even a trip to Gatlinburg (handed out by some festive elves who brought extra holiday magic!), was up for grabs. Guests tried their luck in the bow toss to win cash, candy, gift cards, and even PTO days, all while sipping on hot chocolate from the cozy hot chocolate station. And no Winter Wonderland would be complete without capturing memories in our snow globe photo booth! A huge thank you to our Engagement Committee for helping put this event together. The Walmart in Douglas, GA, has officially leveled up! This 990,000 sq. ft. space has undergone a complete renovation, showcasing top-tier upgrades and cutting-edge efficiency. Our team tackled the removal of outdated radiant heating systems and installed 13 state-of-the-art air rotation units to deliver superior climate control. With the addition of 1,300 feet of refrigerant piping and upgraded exhaust fans and gravity ventilators, the store is now running cooler, smarter, and stronger than ever before. A huge shoutout to our Mechanical Division, whose expertise and hard work drove the success of this project. The Walmart in Newberry, SC is back and better than ever! We’re thrilled to share the transformation of this 154,450 sq. ft store. This full-store remodel revitalized back-of-house offices, employee-used spaces, and front-end white box areas. From upgraded receiving areas and refrigeration cases to a sleek sliding auto door for the online grocery pickup area, every detail was designed to enhance functionality and style. The translucent panels above the vestibule entrances were also replaced, giving the store a refreshed and modern look. Standout features of this remodel include the brand-new Grab & Go section, a beautifully redesigned bakery, remodeled customer bathrooms, newly installed pharmacy and nutrition aisles, and a refreshed grocery market entrance. We’re proud to announce that this project was delivered on time, within budget, and in time for the grand opening ceremony, all while Walmart seamlessly continued its daily operations. We’re excited to spotlight Jas Rader, a dedicated Day Superintendent in our Grocery Division! Jas joined PSI in March 2024, bringing years of residential construction experience, including roles as a Project Manager, Inventory Manager, and Salesman in the roofing industry, along with hands-on expertise in cabinetry and flooring. His strong communication, attention to detail, and leadership skills quickly made him a valuable asset to the team. Starting as a Night Superintendent on Walmart projects, Jas’s leadership and expertise earned him a promotion to Day Superintendent within his first week. He credits PSI’s leadership for supporting his growth, highlighting weekly one-on-one meetings with his Project Manager and Field Operations Manager as key to helping him navigate the learning curve and succeed in his role.
