We are participating in Giving Tuesday! This holiday season, we invite you to join the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium in spreading joy, hope, and compassion for wildlife. It is because of friends like you that that our beloved Zoo continues to maintain the best possible standards of animal care, conservation, and education to positively impact and inspire our community for generations. We have received a generous match from an anonymous donor. Every dollar up to $5,000 will be matched 1:1, doubling the impact of your gift! This year, we are inspired by the beaver. The spirit of cooperation thrives in their colonies. They work together to build dams and lodges and gather food for the good of their community. Each beaver contributes based on their abilities. There is a lesson to be shared by these wonderful and industrious animals. To make a donation, please visit: https://ow.ly/Ryap50Ujp9p

The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium is reaching new heights! We have big plans for one wild future - an ambitious master plan that will revitalize the entire Highland Park campus, focusing on the well-being of our animal residents and the development of exciting new habitats and experiences. With the always increasing urgency to fight biodiversity loss and climate change, the Zoo’s mission – to connect people to wildlife, inspiring our communities to conserve nature for future generations – is more critical than ever. The first phase of the plan encompasses a new front entrance and accessible path, a modern expanded giraffe barn, a revitalized orangutan habitat, and the Zoo's Education Complex. There’s no business like glow business! The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium’s Jack O’Lantern Extravaganza is Pittsburgh’s newest and shiniest must-see autumn event. Thousands of artistically carved pumpkins imbue the Zoo with light nightly through November 3. These gourd-geous works of art feature beloved Zoo animals and familiar characters and scenes from the worlds of entertainment, sports, and more, presented with sound, light, and other special effects. Although jack o’lantern viewing is the festive focus, there are many additional pumpkin-centric activities that can further brighten your visit, including a scavenger hunt, magical spooky specs, a seasonal virtual reality show, pumpkin smashing, a patch full of family fun, and a monstrous menu of autumn-themed food and drinks. This family friendly event is the perfect combination of nighttime fun, the spirit of autumn, and artistry! To learn more, visit https://bit.ly/3SZufIB
