New home purchase applications jumped an incredible 6% in September 🏡 According to the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), mortgage applications for new home purchases not only increased by 6% from August but also surged an impressive 10.8% year-over-year. What’s driving this momentum? “New home sales remain attractive to buyers, supported by slightly lower mortgage rates and increased availability of newly built homes,” shared Joel Kan, MBA’s VP and deputy chief economist. Plus, we’re seeing a rise in FHA applications, now making up nearly 29% of the market.
