🔒 Will encryption block our view of trading systems? Passive monitoring of network data is critical for monitoring trade performance and provides an independent and accurate data source for record keeping. Precise hardware timestamps and real-time reconstruction of payloads can give operations staff a seamless view of network and application performance. However, encryption of trading messages puts this visibility at risk, and encryption is spreading--from crypto markets in the cloud to EU-mandated encryption at Deutsche Börse to NSE India's 2024 transition.
