From welcoming new airlines and routes to enhancing the passenger experience with innovative upgrades, we soared to new heights together. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport achieved remarkable milestones in 2024: ✈️ We celebrated the 50 millionth passenger through PHX in 2024. A first for us, and 2024 will be the busiest year in our history. ✈️ The Taxiway U project, a new 2,000-foot taxiway set to connect the north and south airfields on the west end of the airport, is underway. ✈️ Air France launched the first-ever nonstop flight between Phoenix and Paris. Porter Airlines joined the PHX family too with daily flights from Phoenix to Toronto, and American Airlines launched new service between Phoenix and Tijuana, Mexico. ✈️ The Phoenix Airport System contributed $44.3 billion to the local economy, reinforcing our status as Arizona’s largest economic engine. ✈️ We saw an increase in customer participation during our annual events:  The Aviation Business Summit, Wings for Autism, and 12 Days of Gratitude. ✈️ We continued to host our award-winning Dementia Friendly Travel Workshop and are expanding that with a virtual option in 2025. ✈️ Not only did we celebrate the grand opening of the highly anticipated Sapphire Chase Lounge by The Club, but we also welcomed a new concept at the Rental Car Center, The Phoenix Magazine Café and Market. ✈️ We launched our Green Business Partner Program to recognize those airport partners going above and beyond in adopting sustainable practices. ✈️ We received several awards including Employer of the Year from the WTS Metropolitan Phoenix Chapter, the Tempe Chamber’s Business Excellence Award, Airport of the Year from the Airport Minority Advisory Council, and the Regional Contribution Award from the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. ✈️ Welcomed thousands of fans for sporting events hosted in the Phoenix area like the NCAA Final Four Championship, WNBA All-Star game, and NASCAR.   Thank you for being part of our journey. In 2024, the Phoenix Airport Museum presented 11 new exhibitions at Phoenix Sky Harbor featuring 98 Arizona artists. From elaborate fiber art quilts to urban photography, each artwork on display reflects the vibrancy of our local arts community. Look who dropped by Deer Valley Airport! Ol' St. Nick grabbed a lift from the Phoenix Police Department and dropped in to DVT while his sleigh was being serviced before his annual Dec. 24 worldwide trip to give presents to all the good boys and girls. Several children visited Deer Valley Airport to give a last-minute requests for toys. Thanks to Friends of Deer Valley for sponsoring the event with DVT and Barrio Brewing Co., who set up Santa in the restaurant and offered complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and finger foods!
