His dedication and compassion to the American people will not be forgotten. Have you ever wondered how Soldiers ensure they understand their position on the battlefield? One answer is MAPS for vehicles and other weapons systems! The Mounted Assured-Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) System provides access to modernized military GPS and fuses additional sources of PNT to include timing and alternate navigation technologies, so the Soldier never gets lost. MAPS enables mounted Army forces - meaning the system is attached or "mounted" to a vehicle - to shoot, move, and communicate in GPS-challenged environments. It assures PNT through integrity checks of, and access to, multiple integrated, modular, lean, and layered PNT sources! Currently, MAPS is in it's second generation, which offers even more capabilities via sensor fusion algorithms and non-radio frequency sensors! DDS is a configurable and modular hardware kit that can easily fit in the overhead compartment of an aircraft. It's armed with the ability to tap into a network and host tools for defensive measures. This lightweight, compact and easily deployable kit allows teams to transport with ease and maintain positive control of the hardware.
