Driving efforts to ensure all people have access to high-value healthcare at a transparent and affordable price.

About us

The mission of Patients Rising is to drive efforts to ensure all people in the United States have access to high-value healthcare services and treatments with transparent and affordable pricing. Patients Rising provides people living with chronic and life-threatening illnesses with the information and services they need to best manage the access and affordability challenges they face. In 2020, Patients Rising launched Patients Rising Concierge. We're not the last stop on the road to solving your problems, but we're good at giving directions. At Patients Rising Concierge we research programs and services to help solve your problems, and teach you how to do the same. During the Coronavirus, many Americans came face to face with completely new challenges, like food insecurity, housing instability, loss of work and health insurance, or difficulty finding a safe place to get treatments for chronic diseases. The Concierge service was there to help by finding resources that could help those people on the local, state and federal level. For more information call the Patients Rising Concierge at 800-865-2654, email us at AskUsAnything@patientsrising.org, or visit www.patientsrising.org/get-help

  • 🧠Clio's Story🦓 My name is Clio, and I am a Patient Navigator with the Patient Helpline. I had a patient who had several illnesses such as autoimmune and possible TBIs. By conducting a brief consultation, I was able to connect with her by speaking about my experience with brain surgery and needing imaging on various occasions. It is common to receive requests for financial assistance because health insurance companies have a prior authorization team that can approve or deny your medical care. Her MRI request was a necessity to confirm and diagnose her autoimmune disease due to neck/back pain. With my story, she felt reassured that she was speaking to someone who understood her plight. Also note that once a patient may have reached out to several other services that couldn’t assist them so it's helpful for them to actually reach an individual that isn’t reading from a script. Our team are not just patient care professionals, but we empathize with you about your journey for a quality of life. Sometimes we have cases where a patient needs immediate medical attention, so they’re redirected to the emergency room. However, I am more than happy to check in with the patient to ensure that they’re okay or still need assistance with something else. --------------------------------------------- By visiting the link below and making a donation today, you can play a crucial role in empowering patients to advocate for themselves, access essential care, and connect with community resources. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a significant impact in helping us reach more people and expand our efforts to serve the patient community effectively! 🔸https://hubs.ly/Q030VV9W0 -The Patient Helpline Team🧡 #PatientHelpline #NavigatorFeature #PatientResources #PatientHelplineFundDrive

  • 🏥According to the American Journal of Public Health, in 2017 5.8 million people missed medical appointments because they did not have access to adequate transportation.🚑 🔸Once Covid came, the numbers got so large it's been difficult to measure them. BMC Public Health reported in 2022 that "groups already prone to greater social and economic disadvantage, including low-income individuals and people with chronic conditions, encounter more transportation barriers and experience greater negative health care consequences." 🔸This is in agreement with what we hear on the Patient Helpline, where more than half of the Americans reaching out to us, are asking about transportation resources. 🔸At the Patient Helpline, we are finding solutions, curating information, and connecting people with programs and how to use them. You can be a part of that by supporting our mission: Link in bio🧡✨

Want to change the game? Support legislation that breaks up these healthcare monopolists! #HealthcareReform #PBMTakeover #PatientRights Pro tip: In this version of Monopoly, the banker always wins - and that banker is your PBM! 💊🎲

  • News Alert: Patients Before Monopolies (PBM) Act Today, The Wall Street Journal reported on the introduction of the Patients Before Monopolies (PBM) Act by Senators Elizabeth Warren and Josh Hawley, along with Representatives Diana Harshbarger and Jake Auchincloss. Patients Rising is proud to be the first patient advocacy organization to endorse this bipartisan bill. 👉 Why it matters: Vertical integration of PBMs, health insurers, pharmacies, and health professionals has led to massive health conglomerates riddled with conflicts of interest. This bill would ban health conglomerates from owning both PBMs and pharmacies. 🗣️ What we’re saying: “Across the country, patients feel increasingly disenfranchised by the healthcare system. The culprit: a complex web of powerful health conglomerates including health insurers, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), and their affiliated pharmacies,” said MacKay Jimeson, Executive Director of Patients Rising. “Patients Rising applauds Senators Elizabeth Warren and Josh Hawley, along with Representatives Diana Harshbarger and Jake Auchincloss for putting forward bi-partisan legislation to put patients before monopolies. It is critical we crack down on health conglomerate conflicts of interest and encourage businesses to operate in the interest of patients' long-term health and wellbeing.” 📄 → Read the full press release here: 🔸https://hubs.ly/Q02_wwbN0 #PBMs #PatientsBeforeMonopolies #PBMReform #LegislativeUpdates

  • State lawmakers want to establish Prescription Drug Affordability Boards (PDAB), but it has not been going very well in other states. These boards create chaos for the healthcare system without even lowering the price for patients. The government should not come between you and your prescriptions. But the only thing "the experts" make clear is the PDABs are Pretty Bad🚫 #PDAB #PerscriptionDrugAffordabilityBoards #WhereAreThe Patients

  • I wish I had access to a resource like the Patient Helpline when I first became a patient.
