CapitalB Atlanta recently posted a story on how former residents of Atlanta's Fairburn & Gordon Apartments have found better housing in light of unsafe living conditions at the property. The story highlights PSE's outstanding work in supporting advocacy for the residents to stand up and voice their concerns and forging a strategy to build external pressure on landlords regarding how they can either support or further disenfranchise impacted families. PSE's involvement included efforts by Sterling Johnson, Charles Peterson, Marquese Averett, Colette Haywood and others to bring this critical issue to light. Together We Prosper
About us
As metropolitan Atlanta and the American South undergo major demographic and economic shifts Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE) works to address issues of growth and access because of the disproportionate burdens they impose on vulnerable communities. PSE is leading the way in helping to change and frame policy conversations by partnering with decision makers and community stakeholders to realize equitable policies and outcomes that benefit everyone. Through the leadership of PSE and its partners thoughtful conversations have evolved into collective action because PSE understands the critical need to articulate and promote equity as the superior growth model when broaching these issues to local organizations, community and business leaders, governmental entities and regional organizations.

Progress towards a more diverse environmental sector has not only stalled, it’s reversing. For the first time in the history of @Green 2.0’s Transparency Report Card, the percentage of full-time staff of color has decreased. Learn more at bit.ly/2024-TR. We need the unique and valuable insights of those most affected by climate change to successfully address environmental issues. Failing to include, value, and keep these people at their workplaces will only hinder progress within the environmental sector. #green2.0 #transparencyreport

PSE invites people who live, work, and/or play in Atlanta's Sweet Auburn neighborhood to participate in the Reconnecting Sweet Auburn Community Survey. You can now take the survey through January 13, 2025. The Reconnecting Sweet Auburn Project aims to repair the intentional harm caused in the 1960s when Interstates 75 and 85 (the I-75/85 “Downtown Connector”) tore through Sweet Auburn. The scars still show as the highway, now the nation’s second busiest, was the catalyst for a prolonged period of decline and disinvestment in one of the country’s most culturally and economically significant Black neighborhoods. Your feedback is crucial to shaping the future of this project. Take the survey at https://lnkd.in/eRA8pVnM
