University of Galway: Elevating Student Accommodation with Advanced Ventilation Solutions How do we ensure students live and study in healthy, comfortable environments, even in high-occupancy buildings? At the University of Galway, a student accommodation project prioritized indoor air quality and energy efficiency. With students' health and comfort as the top focus, we provided an advanced Continuous Mechanical Extract Ventilation (CMEV) system using Lunos Silvento V-EC FK extract fans and Lunos ALD-R 160 passive intake units. The Challenge: Balancing optimal indoor air quality in bedrooms, kitchens, and ensuites while minimizing disruption during construction was key. The project needed a robust ventilation system to comply with Part F regulations, be energy-efficient, and maintain occupant comfort.
