Park City Community Foundation is creating an enduring philanthropic community to benefit all the people of Park City.
About us
Inspiring local and lasting change. Together. Park City Community Foundation plays a vital role in solving our community’s most challenging problems. By constantly identifying gaps and issues within our community, we have a keen understanding of Park City’s most pressing needs. To address these issues and fund solutions, we bring together local nonprofits, caring donors and community leaders to contribute both financial resources and innovative ideas that effect lasting change. In addition to building permanent philanthropic endowments for our region, Park City Community Foundation enables donors to establish their own charitable funds and contribute a variety of assets to them, so they can support the specific issues and organizations they care about. And because the Community Foundation is intimately knowledgeable about the nonprofit activities of our community, we’re able to advise donors on the specific organizations that are doing the most meaningful, high-impact work. At the same time, we’re continuously serving as advisors to and advocates for the full range of local nonprofits, so that every organization can be strengthened for the greater good of the community.

As we say goodbye to 2024, we can't help but reflect on what an amazing year this has been for the Community Foundation. 💫 Let's recap some of the highlights: This year, we launched the Zero Food Waste initiative there are ~800 households signed up for curbside collection. The first annual CEO and Executive Director Peer Forum kicked off with 14 local nonprofit leaders. Youth United is the new name for Solomon and RISE Funds, creating a unified program that gives kids access to activities from pre-K through high school. Molly Kawahata, Hanif Fazal, Lauren Fleshman, and many other amazing people spoke to our community. Women's Giving Fund granted a record-breaking $125,000 to some amazing organizations. Our Early Childhood Alliance made strides in advocacy for affordable childcare. We launched a 5-year Strategic Playbook focused on Community Belonging, Thriving Workforce, and Sustainable Future. And to cap off the year, our community raised over $5 MILLION for our local nonprofits during Live PC Give PC. 🧡💚 We are so incredibly grateful for this community, our sponsors, board members, donors, and everyone else who has been involved in some way. 🎊

This year was a massive push for our Climate Fund as we rolled out Zero Food Waste. THANK YOU to Lespri and Treasure Mountain Inn for providing a generous matching donation for Climate Fund during Live PC Give PC and inspiring others to give toward our ongoing Zero Food Waste efforts! Everything we do is rooted in collaboration here at Park City Community Foundation, and we couldn't do our work without our generous partners and donors.

Women's Giving Fund members came together during our annual holiday party to support Peace House. This local nonprofit, which won the Women's Giving Fund high-impact grant in 2017, provides shelter, support, and advocacy to survivors of interpersonal violence and abuse. Our generous members collected over 200 holiday gifts and basic needs for Peace House's holiday boutique. A huge thank you to Kim Abbett, who opened her lovely home to us, and to all the co-hosts who helped to plan and execute the party – Heather Koopman, Whitney Olch, Tania Bodnar, Laini Montlack, Kelly Wallman, and Bonnie Stewart. "Utah has over $96 million in unobligated TANF funding. It is intolerable to allow those funds to build up over the recommended reserve amount when needy families, struggling child care providers and employers alike need them now." Our own Kristen Schulz, Director of Park City Community Foundation's Early Childhood Alliance, published an op-ed in Deseret News. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/g47kd97e
