Stanford EE PhD Candidate | Stanford HAI x McCoy Ethics x NeuroTech Fellow

I recently met with officials from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, alongside Fellows, Project Leads, and Executive Board members of the Paragon Policy Fellowship. We discussed the revolutionary impact of our program in developing the next generation of tech policy experts and received valuable insights on how to scale our efforts to ensure all voices are heard on the Hill. Read more about our meeting here (𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘺 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘵): https://lnkd.in/egSryftj 🗞 Over the past four months, I have served as a Project Lead for the City of San José, working with incredible government leaders like City Privacy Officer for the City of San José, Albert Gehami, and our outstanding Paragon Policy Fellows to develop policy proposals for addressing misuse of AI-generated content and AI system risk evaluation. My involvement in Paragon was fueled by participating in the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) Graduate Fellowship. Throughout the past year, I have become increasingly interested in protecting the welfare of everyday Americans who are direct and indirect stakeholders and users of public AI systems used by local, state, and federal agencies. I chose to do something by better understanding and re-shaping what is currently written or can be written into policy.
