It was the middle of the night on January 26th, 1984 when Bette Lissak first stepped off the plane in Delhi, India. With three children awaiting her return, a hard-earned MBA thesis in her back pocket, and a dream of stepping outside of the conventional roles assigned to women in the workforce, Bette entered unfamiliar territory with tenacity, ambition, and just a dash of naivety—the timeless alchemy that sparks the journey of every triumphant entrepreneur.   Bette's roots traced back to a lineage of strong, indomitable individuals who forged their own path. In the twilight years of World War II, her father found himself orchestrating a daring escape from the clutches of Nazi tyranny. Armed with nothing but diamonds and a steely determination, he navigated waters of desperation and hope, bribing his way onto a boat bound for America. Those diamonds, initially a lifeline to freedom, later became the foundation for his thriving diamond business on 47th Street, here in NYC. Also living in New York at the time was the woman who would become Bette's grandmother - she began a successful restaurant on Houston Street, a legacy that Bette’s mother-in-law later continued with a hardware store in Rockaway Park.   Inspired by their tales, Bette grew a desire to carve her own way and chart a course not limited to societal norms. So, four decades ago, on this very day, Bette embarked on a transformative sojourn into the heart of India, immersing herself in its rich tapestry of culture, laying the foundation for what would blossom into the enterprise we now know as Paradigm Trends.   Along her journey, Bette meticulously wove connections between factories, materials, and designs, navigating the nuances that came with being a woman in South Asia. A mere seven months later, she partook in her first trade show. Bette’s debut product line resulted in $24,000, solidifying the prosperity of her business for many years to come. Her first bestseller? Iron vases crafted by her new partners in India.   Today, Paradigm Trends stands tall on the same shores of opportunity that saved her father; a testament to the valiant spirit that transforms adversity into prosperity, and diamonds into enduring success.   And so, we raise a toast to our tenacious founder, Bette Lissak, and the legacy of Paradigm Trends in celebration of 40 years of unwavering strength, perennial partnerships, and great design for a great price.    🥂🌟 #40YearsStrong #Anniversary #HospitalityDesign

What is Rattan? Rattan, or Calamus Rotang, as it’s named in India; is derived from the climbing palms found in the tropical regions of Asia, Africa, and Australia. A highly used material in India, rattan comes with multiple benefits for interior designers and hotels alike! ✨Design: Its natural coloring and neutral design allow it to blend effortlessly with various room designs. 🙌Use: Its flexibility and lighter weight, combined with its high durability, allow easy customization and usage for both indoor and outdoor settings. ♻️Sustainability: Rattan can be responsibly sourced thanks to its fast growth. According to Brooke Moore, an interior designer for the company Freemodel, “Unlike other types of wood that can take up to 20 or 30 years to grow, rattan can be fully grown and harvested in only a couple of years.” 💸Affordability: With easy procurement, it offers cheaper prices than many other kinds of wood - optimal for wholesale sourcing! Sustainable, convenient, and durable; what’s not to like? If you're curious about rattan, follow the link below! https://bit.ly/4eForMk #Rattan #HospitalityDesign #ProductDesign

Evocative Design is the ‘IT’ girl of hotel design! With 2025 approaching, it’s important to note what’s popular for guests. Instead of focusing solely on style, approaching the space using evocative design resonates more with hoteliers. Without it, it’s like having a Christmas party without a Christmas tree or Mariah Carey! It wouldn’t leave much of an impression. It’s done by thoughtfully combining the textures, colors, and sounds reflecting your hotel to make the space unique and memorable. This invites guests to not only admire the decor but also fully immerse themselves. These small details can unite the entire space and reflect your involvement and care in a guest’s experience. With unlimited customizable options, we ensure that your guests' experience goes beyond the surface level. After all, the quality of a guest’s experience isn’t measured by the price per night but by the feeling they get when they enter their room.
