    🚀 From “Not Doing TGS” to a Midnight Pivot and an Epic Sprint 🌟 The Founder Institute’s Epic Sprint challenge landed in my inbox at 10 PM on Monday: pitch to 9+ strangers, deck and all, and iterate after every third pitch. At first glance, I thought, “Strangers? Okay, sure…” but where was I supposed to find them? That very morning during office hours, I’d told Sameer Sortur I wasn’t doing TiE Global Summit (TGS). Why? Because Bangalore traffic is legendary, and navigating this city is a whole sport. But by midnight, it hit me: if I needed strangers in the ecosystem, where else would I find them all in one place? Pivoting to TGS at that point was a no-brainer. A last-minute pass at 1 AM, and I was in. By Tuesday, I was at BIEC, scouting strangers. The cafeteria became the battlefield. The first 15 minutes? Brutal. I froze with the “How do I even approach people?” mindset. But then, it all kicked off with Godson Gera. We ended up having a long, warm conversation about how introverts like us have entire event personalities but need decompression time after. Oh, and books! Absolute gold. And yes, I did get pitch feedback too. Then came Ullasa Bhat, who was amazing. He already knew about Founder Institute and even pulled in a few others into the conversation. That led to me demoing Ovii to Dinesh Gajjar and a few others, diving into a discussion about proctoring at ovii. By the end of the day, I didn’t just hit 9 strangers—I hit 11. And here’s the kicker: strangers aren’t as scary as we make them out to be. People in the ecosystem? They want to help. You just have to ask. As for Bangalore traffic? It did its thing. By the time I got home, I was so drained I actually slept at 1 AM. For someone who’s usually up till 5 AM, that felt like a win. Finally caught up on sleep for a change! The lesson?     In the early days of Ovii, dev meetups were a core part of our culture. The formula was simple (and a little absurd): grab a table, fuel up on sugar-loaded lemonades and an absurd amount of cookies, and code all day. None of us working from our beds for a change, and somehow, the combination of collaboration and a sugar rush meant we shipped a lot of code.     How do we simulate the chaos of a real-world hiring event at Ovii? During our previous event, our server held up—technically, it didn’t crash. But what we did see was complete chaos: candidates submitting code, answering questions, and completing assessments all at once, with no predictable flow. 😳 The chaos was a huge learning moment for us. We realized that just surviving load spikes isn’t enough; we need to replicate the unpredictability and randomness of actual hiring events. So, we evolved our testing approach: We started by carefully handling tokens and ensuring each candidate's session was unique. We staggered submissions to simulate real-world behaviors, where users submit at different times, with no fixed pattern. We created a test that mirrors the real flow of event-based hiring, where multiple-choice questions, coding answers, and final submissions happen at different rates. 🚀 The result?
