TECH TUESDAY: Check out Dr. Keun Seok Seo's Rapid Assay for Detecting Neutralizing Antibody Against Sars-Cov2 with Dr. Nogi Park and Dr. Joo Youn Park! WHAT: Rapid tests using chimeric proteins to distinguish antibodies and produces results in 30 minutes in a non-laboratory setting. HOW: The invention uses chimeric proteins: one fuses the spike protein's RBD with GFP for UV lamp visualization, and another fuses ACE2's extracellular domain with mouse immunoglobulin for specific SARS-CoV-2 detection. WHY: Aims to develop a test that determines if a person contains a neutralizing or non-neutralizing antibody against the SARS-Cov2 virus.
