To lead this initiative, Dr. Abboud has appointed a distinguished group of experts in orthopaedics who are recognized for their contributions to clinical practice, research, and innovation in the field. 🌟 Meet Anand Murthi MD, FAAOS, member of our OSET Scientific Advisory Board! 🌟 Dr. Anand Murthi is the Chief of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and Director of the Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship and Research at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He has published numerous scientific articles and written chapters and textbooks on biomechanics, new surgical techniques, and outcomes research. He has been involved in shoulder implant design and has developed the first shoulder arthroplasty registry system. He is the Editor In-Chief of Current Orthopedic Practice. He established the American Shoulder and Elbow Society Mentor/Mentee program and the ASES Resident and Fellows Yearly Meeting. His main goals are to educate and mentor our current and future shoulder and elbow surgeons. Under the leadership of our new Scientific Advisory Board, Ortho Summit is set to continue delivering pioneering education and innovation, ensuring attendees have the latest tools to enhance patient care. 🌟 Meet Kevin Bonner, MD, FAAOS, FAANA - member of our OSET Scientific Advisory Board! 🌟 Dr. Bonner attended Georgetown University on a baseball scholarship. His medical education included attending Georgetown Medical School and then on to The Hospital for Special Surgery for his Orthopedic training. Prior to joining the Jordan-Young Institute, Dr. Bonner was an Orthopedic Surgeon in the US Navy for four years. During his tenure in the Navy, Dr. Bonner was the Chief of Sports Medicine at Portsmouth Naval Hospital as well as the Team Physician for the US Navy SEALS. Dr. Bonner has a keen interest in research involving cartilage repair and regeneration, meniscus surgery, ACL reconstruction, and arthroscopic shoulder surgery including rotator cuff repair. He has helped develop several cartilage repair techniques which are currently being utilized throughout the United States. Dr. Bonner has written recent articles and medical textbook chapters on topics including: Arthroscopic shoulder surgery, meniscus repair, meniscus transplantation, articular cartilage defects, articular cartilage transplantation and ligament reconstruction of the knee. He enjoys teaching and lecturing at Orthopaedic courses and conferences in both the US and internationally. Dr Bonner is in practice at The Jordan-Young Institute in Virginia Beach, VA where he is also Director of the Research Foundation. He is also Professor of Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He is currently the 2nd VP in the Presidential Line for the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Hunter-Giordano, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS - member of our OSET Scientific Advisory Board! 🌟 Airelle Giordano is the Director of Clinical Services and Residency Training at the University of Delaware PT Clinic. She is Board Certified as a Sports and Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and an Associate Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. She is the current President Elect for the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy (AASPT) and is a co-chair for the ESKKA-AOSSM-AASPT consensus initiative on meniscus rehabilitation. Her current clinical focus is on complicated knee injuries and gait, post-concussion rehabilitation, and is a current co-author on the multi-Academy Clinical Practice Guideline on Concussion Rehabilitation. She also focuses on mentoring the next generation of sports and orthopedic specialists. Under the leadership of our new Scientific Advisory Board, Ortho Summit is set to continue delivering pioneering education and innovation, ensuring attendees have the latest tools to enhance patient care.
