This is 718 square feet of "affordable awesomeness". It's ~35% smaller than the national average for new 2 Bedrooms, which would make it more attainable to rent, while including walk-in-closets, a fully private home office and even a third bedroom on demand. Well-designed hyper-functional efficiency units are not just for single professionals living in 300 sqft units. They could be applied to families in bigger units too. This is the type of "affordability by design" that Ori brings to residential real estate. How would you improve this particular design? #livelargeinasmallerfootprint

Interesting quagmire we're in: renters can't afford to rent and developers can't afford to build
Creating housing supply through office-to-residential conversions is an obvious solution for cities with high office vacancy and low apartment supply. However, as widely reported, the process is notoriously complex, expensive, and daunting, which has slowed down these critical conversions. Despite these challenges, it's been inspiring to watch the Willow Bridge Property Company team deliver the incredible Balsa, adding essential housing to DC’s central business district. (https://livebalsa.com/) It's gratifying and a privilege to have Ori Expandable Apartments included in this community, and it's thrilling to see how quickly these new apartments are now being leased! Huge kudos to Duncan Slidell, Rolf Williams, John Weiss, their architect partner Hickok Cole, and the rest of the Willow Bridge team for their unparalleled execution. #housingsupply #conversion #multifamily #affordability #housing #rents

As we delivered Ori Studios across the country, we discovered there's an interesting space between the traditional Furnished vs Unfurnished model dichotomy. Ori systems make an apartment feel bigger and also bring the core essential furniture items (bed, mattress..) that make move-in and move-out simpler. Then you let people personalize the rest of the space to their liking. It's not furnished, but it's not unfurnished either. We call it semi-furnished.

Front page of Propmodo today: another great story about how designing apartments "the Ori way" can make housing more attainable, while making buildings more profitable.
