About us
The Oregon Lottery is both a public trust and a market-driven business. Oregon voters established their lottery in 1984 with a constitutional amendment, and have since defined most of the ways in which lottery profits are distributed. When we say “We Do Good Things” we are referring to the $9 billion of Lottery profits that have been transferred to the State of Oregon to fund critical programs such as education, economic development, state parks, watershed enhancement, Veteran services, and outdoor school. The Lottery also funds 100 percent of gambling addiction treatment statewide. Our business brings Oregonians the best in lottery products, like Oregon's Game Megabucks, Powerball, MegaMillions, Scratch-its and Video Lottery games. Our mission is to earn maximum profits for the people Oregon commensurate with the public good. The Oregon Lottery is recognized as an industry leader and as such, offers a broad range of opportunities where you can demonstrate your talent, enthusiasm, ambition and ingenuity to help us continue to do good things for Oregon.

Oregon Lottery will return more than $947 million to the state for the 2024 fiscal year – a $48 million increase from the previous year. Lottery generated $940 million in profit and reduced reserves nearly $8 million, enabling the higher return. The funding directly benefits Oregon Parks And Recreation Department and natural habitats, public schools, Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs, outdoor school, and Business Oregon. Oregon Lottery is self-funded through the sale of games, not tax dollars, and voters and the Legislature designate where the money goes. “Oregonians help support the state programs they care about by playing our games,” said Oregon Lottery Director Michael Wells. “We continue to celebrate the wins of our players, the retailers who sell our games, and the public programs lifted up by these funds in our communities.” #Community #OregonWins

Want to spread some Oregon love this holiday? Check out the State of Oregon ultimate gift guide (where you might see a sparkly Oregon Lottery Scratch-it on the list). ✨ Our tickets make popular stocking stuffers and can be found at Oregon Lottery retailers across the state. There is one important consideration when choosing a ticket: make sure the gift’s recipient is at least 18 years old. "Our festive Scratch-its make a perfect one-size fits all gift for adults to adults,” said Stacy Shaw, Oregon Lottery’s senior manager of product marketing. Even if you don’t win, Oregon Lottery helps fund programs that Oregonians care about, including State Parks, economic development, education, and more. #GivingSeason #OregonGiftGuide Business Oregon Oregon Department of Education Oregon Parks And Recreation Department

Over the weekend, Oregon Lottery staff were on hand for the dedication of the restored Japanese Garden in Dallas City Park. The park's garden was restored in part, thanks to a $148,000 grant from the Oregon Parks And Recreation Department. Oregon Lottery dollars helped fund the Parks' Local Government Grants program to bring the tranquil setting to life with a waterfall, pond, and traditional vegetation. Many in attendance remembered the garden from when it was first established in the 1960s, including a couple married at the garden who were celebrating their 49th anniversary on that day. #WeDoGoodThings

A store employee is facing charges after they were caught stealing a winning lottery ticket as part of a Retail Integrity Check operation conducted by Oregon State Police and Oregon Lottery. “While it is rare to see an individual be dishonest at one of our retailers, we have a responsibility to ensure our games are played with fairness and integrity,” said Justin Hedlund, Oregon Lottery’s assistant director of security. “These checks are one way we accomplish that.” Undercover checks are done routinely by OSP at Oregon Lottery retailers throughout the year.
