  • This week OCJF board members and staff came together for an annual retreat in the middle of a thunderstorm! We all got in touch with OCJF's mission, got to know each other better, shared pertinent information about OCJF's history, and strategically thought about OCJF's future amidst the ongoing immigration crisis. It was truly empowering to have such bright bold leaders in one room. Thank you to the OCJF board for making space and time to invest your energy and care into OCJF's mission, we appreciate you all so much and were all happy to see the sun come out! If you or someone you know has a special interest in transforming the immigration legal system that is considering supporting a unique nonprofit board please email inquiries to info@ocjusticefund.org.

  • For the past two years OCJF has released an annual report highlighting the impact of our immigration bond fund, which is the only one in Orange County. OCJF's 2023 Bond Fund Report is now available on our website and at this link: https://lnkd.in/dvzrnaGb Every year, we meet incredible people through this program and their stories of resilience have always informed our advocacy efforts. From supporting long-term residents navigating detention to aiding recent asylum seekers, we are honored to continue to work with community members and other advocates committed to freedom. While we are thankful our communities support makes this work possible, we are ultimately steadfast in our belief that the need for bond fund's should not exist. We strongly believe in the closure of detention centers, emphasizing the importance of a humane and compassionate approach to immigration. Head over to our partner OC Rapid Response Network (https://lnkd.in/dSZdXvMF) to learn about the imminent closure of the Adelanto detention center! As an institute of inhuman treatment many of our community members have dealt with, we are fiercely advocating for its closure. Follow the link in our bio to help ensure it's closure. You can access an email template to urge your representatives to ensure its closure too! #FreedomForAll #ImmigrantJustice.
