Ever faced a moment of harsh feedback that shifted how you think and work? Roshanak Didehban, who currently serves as Chief Administrative Officer for Mayo Clinic in Arizona joined me on the latest edition of Women in Healthcare Podcast for MGMA to share the moment when early in her career as an Administrative Fellow she heard these exact words 'Roshy, you're failing.' It hit her hard, but the key is in how she (and you in the future) respond. When someone risks giving you feedback, always start with a genuine 'Thank you.' They care enough about your growth to take that chance. From there, Roshy shifted and started implementing three crucial things to navigate failure: 1️⃣ Pick Your Attitude: Will you be a pessimist or an optimist? Embrace failure as an opportunity to improve. 2️⃣ Pick Your Perspective: Choose to overcome rather than dwell in self-pity. Your attitude determines your altitude. 3️⃣ Pick Your Purpose: What's the deeper reason behind your work? Find that greater purpose and it becomes your driving force through challenges.
