We've told hundreds of stories over the years and finally got around to crafting a piece that speaks to who we are as a collective - an anthem if you will that speaks to our ethos. It was so fun (and challenging!) to go through many of the stories we've produced to pull this together. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. If you've got a story to tell, don't hesitate to reach out. #OnlyToday
About us
Only Today is guided by two principles: Put people first. Use storytelling for good. As a film production company, these principles mean a lot to us because what good is a well told story or using the latest camera tech if the end result is to serve our own self interests? We believe that by putting people before business we will attract amazing stories that need to be told. Stories that will tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges in poverty, education, healthcare, and equality. Perhaps by the time we colonize a martian planet, one… or all of these social issues will be eradicated. We’re not alone on this journey. Our founders and directors have worked with some of the largest companies in the world and their films awarded with 5 Emmy Awards and over a dozen nominations. We’ve collaborated with Facebook, Apple, Showtime, the NFL, CBS Sports, AT&T, and much much more.

In 2017, in the wake of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, Sir Darius Brown realized a lot of shelter dogs were being transferred from Texas and Puerto Rico to NYC near where he lived. When he learned those animals would be euthanized if they weren’t adopted, he decided he had to do something. Check out this video we created in collaboration with Meta and the incredible Darius Brown and learn more at https://lnkd.in/gikT2xjj.

It is National STEM day! STEM day is celebrated on November 8th each year to recognize and celebrate the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. We had a chance to sit down with renowned astronomer Dr. Sandra Faber to talk about curiosity, those who helped nurture her love for science and her journey to doing impactful work as an astronomer. Today we are inspired by people, like Dr. Faber, who have dedicated their life to the pursuit of knowledge in these fields. By exploring STEM fields, young people have the power to shape the future, solve real-world problems, and unlock endless possibilities for innovation and discovery. Fun fact: The date was chosen because "Nov8" is a numeronym that sounds like "innovate" ;)

From October 31st to November 4th we celebrate Diwali, The Festival of Lights and India's biggest holiday of the year! Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. This vibrant celebration invites everyone to join in the festivities, embrace the spirit of community, and reflect on the values of joy, hope, and renewal. In honor of Diwali, we are sharing a project our team filmed in India in collaboration with Kanway Singh and Meta. Singh is the founder of "Indian Birds", the largest online community dedicated to the rich birdlife of India’s natural wild habitat and its neighboring countries. Created in 2007, the group’s 450,000 members are bird enthusiasts who come together to share observations and knowledge, celebrate the joys of local birdlife and advocate to conserve and protect the rich biodiversity of the region’s critical bird populations.

🏈 Fantasy Man is a narrative short film based on the true story of the origin of fantasy football. Invented in 1962 by Bill “Wink” Winkenbach, Fantasy Football is now a multi-billion dollar industry and has altered the way millions of people watch the sport. Made by our team at Only Today, in collaboration with cbssports and aired before the National Football League (NFL) Las Vegas Raiders game , we loved the opportunity to work with the talented team to tell this story.

We collaborated with Warren Carlyle to create this short piece on OctoNation - The Largest Octopus Fan Club!. The nonprofit organization’s mission is to inspire wonder of the ocean by teaching the world about octopuses. Now with over 70,000 members and content that reaches millions weekly, OctoNation collaborates with underwater photographers, artists, marine biologists, aquarists, and organizations who are inspired by its mission. Warren leveraged the power of social media to bring people together over their love of the octopus. As it grew, Warren felt he needed to expand the OctoNation team in order to better fulfill its mission. He was prompted by community members to sell merchandise and he opted to do so through Facebook Shops. The revenue enabled him to hire writers, marine biologists and a creative director. OctoNation is now a full-fledged non-profit that supports marine wildlife conservation, education and research. Learn more about OctoNation!
