We're still basking in the glow of winning this INCA - Independent Networks Co-operative Association award recently - for Outstanding Delivery of New Infrastructure - awarded for delivering the Trunk Road Concession (TRC) network, connecting high-capacity fibre and microducts into Vantage Data Centers CWL1 site in Newport, Wales. Since Ogi won the 25 year concession from Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government to build this network on its motorways and trunk roads, the project has been a fantastic example of collaboration between a wide range of public and private sector stakeholders - delivered at zero cost to the public purse. Much credit must go to Ogi's Richard Leeding for managing a highly complex build programme, but a raft of Ogi colleagues aside, special mention to Welsh Government's team - Rich Sewell, Gareth Colley, Philomena Fowler, Gemma Martyn, and Al Khan in the Digital Infrastructure team, David Denner and Gareth Day CEng FICE on the Transport side, as well as Rob Knight from SWTRA, plus Gareth Price and his team in the Traffic Management Centre. Thanks also to Mandy Evans and Joe Stitfall from Cardiff Council, Chris Pope and Karolina Golota from National Highways, Darren Lewis and Gareth Owens from ERH, Chris Hart at 2Rent, Tony Heath and Alex Plummer from Fiberlay, Mark Rowe from Amey, and Dickon Payne from Welsh Telecom. HellermannTyton Global, OFS Optics and Emtelle also provided essential materials and support. Apologies to anyone I've forgotten - and thanks again to all those who've played a role in helping to deliver a really important project for Wales.
