About us
The NYU School of Professional Studies Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality is a global hub for the study of hospitality, tourism and event management. Founded in 1995, the Tisch Center was established in response to the growing need for hospitality and tourism undergraduate and graduate education. The Tisch Center's cutting-edge curricula attracts bright, motivated students who seek to become leaders in their fields. Faculty at the Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality are thought leaders in hospitality, tourism and events. The unique composition of the faculty combines many disciplines and specialties, which is necessary to cover the scope of our industries. With backgrounds in business, geography, economics and social science, the faculty produces research and thought leadership that support teaching and industry engagement.

Recently, NYU SPS Tisch Center of Hospitality hosted a fireside chat with Dana Beninati, educator, journalist, Resident Sommelier at Food Network, and Host of Dine with Dana, featuring Chip Wade, Chief Executive Officer of Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG). Opening remarks were done by Eddie Bergman, President of Proxima Hospitality Group and Innovative Development Services and MCW Global, and Nicolas Graf, Associate Dean of NYU SPS Tisch Center of Hospitality. This event was part of the 20th Grossinger–Bergman Lecturer Series. At the event, Wade discussed the state of hospitality and tourism and offered valuable advice for current NYU SPS Tisch Center students and alums on succeeding in this competitive industry.

NYU SPS Tisch Center of Hospitality professor Sean Hennessey is quoted in this article by the New York Post on the reopening of the Four Seasons. “The Four Seasons has long enjoyed a position as the most expensive hotel in New York and I’m sure it’s eager to regain that position, making a big splash out of the box,” said Sean Hennessey, a professor at New York University’s Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality. Historically, its room rates have been about 10% higher than its competitors’ prices, Hennessey said.
