NBS-IN was proud to be a part of this Walls of Honor Ceremony. Thank you to the teammates who helped support Operation Steel Warrior with fundraising for the Ohmer home.
A group of Nucor teammates, who are also military veterans, recently traveled to Maineville, Ohio to attend the Gary Sinise Foundation’s Walls of Honor Ceremony for smart-home recipient Chad Ohmer and his family. This ceremony includes family and friends writing messages of support and love on the walls of the veteran’s future smart home prior to the finish work. Chad Ohmer, retired U.S. Marine Corp Cpl. and his family will be receiving a one-of-a-kind specially adapted smart home through the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. initiative. These 100% mortgage-free homes ease the daily challenges faced by heroes and their families. Each year, divisions across Nucor Corporation have contributed to the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. initiative through Operation Steel Warrior, a combined fundraising effort among Nucor divisions. This past year, Nucor Fastener, Nucor Building Systems , and Vulcraft Verco - Division of Nucor Corp raised over $22,000 towards the Ohmer home. At the Walls of Honor Ceremony, Nucor Steel Marion, Harris Rebar and Nucor Building Systems donated a custom fire pit made by NBS-IN teammates for Chad's home. Representatives from Nucor Steel Brandenburg and Nucor Steel Nebraska gave Chad and his family OSW gear and thanked him for his service.

The almost 12,000 sf shop utilizes three single slopes and one lean-to, leaving space for the main building, office, covered storage, and mechanical area. This 61,600 sf trailer manufacturing facility features twelve 10-ton cranes and 13 overhead doors. NBS designed the loads for the mezzanine, provided the CFR roof systems and the A-Panel walls.
