Earlier this year we learned that the Krempels Brain Injury Center had started a podcast group with its members. “We immediately knew that we wanted to help bring these important productions out of the classroom and into the community,” said Tricia Desrocher, PT, MS, CSRS, VP of Strategic Planning here at Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital Network. “In the “Let’s Talk Radio” Podcast, survivors of acquired brain injury offer real insight into their recovery and resilience as they share stories and conversation.” We are pleased to share that their first episode is now available for you to listen to! As we continue to celebrate our 40th Anniversary, we asked our team to send pictures that "say we're 40 without saying we're 40". We love the creativity... * The Outpatient Therapy Clinic team at our location in Lawrence on Amesbury St. channeled their inner Karate Kid and candy cravings to celebrate Northeast Rehab's 40th Anniversary. Did you know that the Karate Kid movie was released in the US on June 22, 1984. And The Goetze's Candy Company created Cow Tales in 1984. * "Awesome Since 1984" - we think so too! Northeast Rehab's Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital is located inside The Elliot. They pulled out their ruby red to celebrate our 40th. * Here's to the "4-teas"! Members of our Nashua team (left to right) hospitalist Dr. Urbano, Nurse Manager Terri Krol, Therapy Team Leader Courtney Cashman and physiatrist, Associate Medial Director, Dr. Sohn. Northeast Rehab's Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital is located in Southern NH Medical Center. * One of our mother-daughter duos - the Kayos - turned to nature to show what 40 years of growth can look like. #40yearssince1984 #NortheastRehab #40thAnniversary #NortheastRehabilitationHospitalNetwork #choosenortheastrehab #wearehiring #healthcarecareers #therapycareers #nursingcareers

We recently celebrated the official opening of the John F. Prochilo therapeutic garden at our Salem, NH hospital. We redesigned this outdoor area in honor of John, our former CEO, who retired a year ago after 37 years of exemplary service. The garden offers a calm, comforting and healing environment for our patients, their loved ones and our staff. Careful consideration went into the design which incorporates natural features to enhance each patient's therapeutic experience - various walking surfaces, an arched bridge, raised flower beds and a pergola. This project is also part of our 40th anniversary celebration. A special thank you to the talented NRHN team members who poured so much love, thought and creativity into creating this relaxing, therapeutic retreat. The heartfelt energy at last night’s Service Awards Banquet was inspiring. We had a fabulous time recognizing our Service Award Recipients - 112 individuals who reached 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and even 35 year milestones during 2023. Plus, it was an honor to recognize our Circle of Excellence Award recipients. These individuals were nominated by a colleague for going above and beyond during the second half of 2023 and first half of 2024. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate. Pictured below are members of our therapy team and medical staff. We can’t wait to share more pictures from this fabulous evening. powerofmedicalrehab #nationalrehabilitationawarenessweek #northeastrehabilitationhospitalnetwork #northeastrehab #PowerofMedicalRehab

Tonight is the night for an NRHN favorite - our annual Service Awards Banquet. This evening employees from across our Network are gathered to honor our Service Award Recipients. 112 employees are celebrating 5, 10, 20, 25, 30, and yes…35 years of service (based on calendar year 2023). Plus, we are recognizing individuals who have received a Service of Excellence Award. It is fitting that we are gathering for this important occasion during Rehabilitation Awareness Week. Congratulations to everyone and enjoy the evening. #northeastrehabilitationhospital #northeastrehabilitationhospitalnetwork

It's Rehabilitation Awareness Week and this year's theme is the Power of Medical Rehab. Across our Network, teams are creatively inspiring our patients and one another. We thought it would be fitting to share some pictures from a recent event at our Salem hospital. The U200 team hosted their own “Rehab Olympics". Patients participated in events such as pool noodle fencing, wheelchair racing and parallel bar hurdles. They also opened and closed their events with special ceremonies. This IS the Power of Medical Rehab and just one of so many amazing examples of the ways that our team is making a difference. #healthcarecareers #northeastrehab #ChooseNortheastRehab #NortheastRehabilitationHospitalNetwork

We’ve been beating the summer heat while enjoying a relaxing team activity. The Wellness Committe hosted the “Calm, Cool and Coloring Challenge”. GIANT coloring posters by artist DebbieLynn have been spreading cheer throughout our Network. Posters have been available to staff at all of our locations, in departments and common areas. Last week, photos of the completed posters were submitted for judging. We will be sure to share the finished projects. If you are looking for something to do on these hot summer days, grab a coloring book, create some free time and enjoy the mental mindset this activity creates. #northeastrehabilitationhospital #NortheastRehab

May is #StrokeAwarenessMonth and we are joining healthcare organizations and non-profits in a unified effort to make sure everyone knows the signs and symptoms of a stroke. According to the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association -- New Hampshire, stroke is the No. 5 cause of death and the leading cause of disability in the United States. Minutes matter and can save lives. How do you know the signs? Remember the BE FAST acronym. #northeastrehab #northeastrehabilitationhospitalnetwork
