As 2024 winds down, we’re reflecting on the incredible courage, strength, and growth we’ve seen in our NOCD Community this year, and how meaningful it’s been to watch our Members reclaim what matters most through evidence-based treatment for OCD. They’ve embraced new opportunities, strengthened connections with loved ones, and pursued dreams that once felt out of reach. This holiday season, we’re honored to celebrate their incredible journeys. Here are a few of the many things that learning to manage #OCD has made possible for them in 2024: • Walking in public without intrusive thoughts • Traveling for the first time in over 10 years • Graduating college • Getting sober • Going to a concert for the first time in 20 years • Spending time on self-care instead of compulsive cleaning #2024OCDwin

Howie Mandel’s advice for anyone fighting OCD: Take that first step, reach out for help, and never stop believing there are better days ahead. There is light at the tunnel, and you’re worth the fight. This moving moment comes from Howie’s recent conversation with Marc Summers about their shared struggle with OCD, and what it was like to work in Hollywood at a time when the disorder was deeply misunderstood. Howie and Marc have invaluable advice for anyone facing their own struggles, and in the full episode of “Get to know OCD,” they open up about the setbacks and stigma they faced, how they overcame these challenges, and what they learned along the way. 🎥 Watch here: https://lnkd.in/eFp_ArfD #MentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #HealthEducation

Magical thinking, or the belief that your thoughts or actions can influence unrelated events, is a common experience among people with #OCD. Those struggling with it often feel like they have the weight of the world on their shoulders—and on Friday the 13th, when the whole world seems to be talking about superstitions and “bad luck,” it can feel especially overwhelming. With the right knowledge and proper care, they can start to recognize magical thinking for what it is: a symptom of OCD, not a burden they have to carry. 🔮Read more: https://lnkd.in/gUJitzJv

2024 was a year full of transformations and challenges for the healthcare industry. Looking at 2025, we expect even more change on the horizon. As is tradition, some predictions for the year to come... 🤖 #1 AI will continue accelerating, but added scrutiny Is coming – AI will continue to play an increasing role in clinical workflows and care delivery. At the same time, guardrails will be developed to ensure quality and safety. 📰 #2 Continued increase and danger of misinformation – Public trust in the medical profession will continue to deteriorate as misinformation spreads on social media. There is opportunity for digital health companies to help consumers rebuild that trust through greater transparency and education. 📈 #3 Healthcare M&A to increase – Incoming administration likely to favor large transactions with reduced FTC scrutiny, opening the door to a more active M&A market than we saw in 2024. 💊 #4 Pharma pricing and PBMs continue to take heat – With Pharma spend exceeding $600B annually, digital health solutions can present a lower cost alternative to expensive medications. 🏙️ #5 Medicaid: A Tale of Two Cities – The new administration is more likely to enact block grants or work requirements for Medicaid. Red states will pull back on Medicaid expansion while blue states will double down on coverage. 🧠 #6 Addressing the Dementia crisis – GUIDE program to accelerate digital innovations as payers grapple with rising diagnoses and associated costs, though greater reimbursement support is needed. 🎯 #7 Pharma amps up consumer focus – Biopharma increasingly realizes the importance of digital tools for patient engagement and retention and offers platforms and services via partnerships and home-grown offerings. We have strong conviction that the next year will continue to foster increased innovation in digital health. “The biggest source of fake news is inside your head,” says Dr. Ashley Smith. As she explains in this “Get to know OCD” podcast clip, our brains have a tendency to seek patterns and connect dots, even when those “dots” don’t exist. It’s why OCD can feel so convincing, and why stepping outside of your comfort zone can feel so difficult. But as Dr. Smith reminds us, anxiety doesn’t necessarily mean something bad is happening. It can simply mean you’re trying something new—and as she’s learned from personal experience, stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to a more fulfilling life. In the full episode of “Get to know OCD,” Dr. Smith shares what her experience with vision loss taught her about uncertainty, the power of understanding your mind’s quirks, and her insights on the science of happiness. 📺 Watch now: https://lnkd.in/gNZkHTJd #MentalHealth #HealthEducation #MentalHealthAwareness

The urge to constantly research and verify things about one’s OCD theme online can feel really pressing, but as Dr. Ted Witzig Jr explains, it’s just another one of OCD’s tricks. No matter how much checking and analysis we do, trying to achieve certainty will only leave us right where we started—much like being stuck at the 5-yard line in football. Sitting with the discomfort and allowing it to pass is the real way out of the compulsive research rabbit hole. In the latest episode of “Get to know OCD,” Dr. Witzig pulls back the curtain on more of OCD’s tricks, talks about his unique background as an ordained minister and clinical psychologist, and unpacks the complex and misunderstood OCD theme of scrupulosity. 🔗Watch the full episode: https://lnkd.in/gavuxWZz
