NiSource, NIPSCO and Columbia Gas employees participated in Energy Careers Discovery Zone Day hosted by the Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) in Washington, D.C. Members of Congress, their staffs, federal agency officials, workforce boards, energy educators, community-based organizations, philanthropic organizations, state and local officials and more learned about workforce development in the energy sector from us and 140+ energy company representatives.

Achieving this international certification for asset management systems recognizes NiSource’s commitment to operational excellence and safety for our people, systems and customers. A special thank you to Bill Jefferson, our EVP and Chief Operating and Safety Officer, and the team of key contributors for their work on behalf of this effort and for representing NiSource during this month’s ceremony at The National Veterans Memorial and Museum in Columbus, Ohio.

Director of Environmental Permitting Brian Kortum plays an important role supporting our commitment to environmental stewardship in our communities. Cody Merkes, leader design engineering, played an integral role in leading the technical design efforts to develop NiSource's first hydrogen blending skid, a sophisticated system that allows the controlled blending of hydrogen with natural gas into our Pennsylvania Safety Town. Launched last year at our training site in Monaca, Pa., this multiphase project will assist our companies in determining hydrogen's role in our decarbonization program.
