Around 200 people gathered to celebrate the career of Newton County Clerk of Courts Linda Hays Tuesday afternoon. Congratulations, Linda, on 42 years in the Clerk's office, along with all your accomplishments and service to Newton County!

Newton County held its annual Service Awards ceremony to honor employees. Individuals were recognized for their dedicated service spanning 5, 10, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years. Thank you for your dedication and hard work in serving the community of Newton County. #OneNewton #ServiceAwards

Rodrigues Johnson, a Roll-Off Operator for the Newton County Solid Waste Authority, finished in first place recently during an international competition. Johnson achieved the feat against 15 competitors from across the nation during the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) competition on Oct. 5. Johnson also earned the title of “Top Gun” in the Truck Competition against 61 other drivers. Johnson has been with Newton County for more than five years serving as a CDL Driver/Equipment Operator at the landfill. Morgan Kinard serves as an Administrative Technician for the Board of Elections and Registration.
