Attorneys Greg Pepe and Sarah Smeriglio enjoyed the recent ASMAC Annual Fall Conference and the opportunities it provided to interact with other attorneys and physician advocates and discuss legal, legislative, litigation and policy developments impacting physicians and physician practices. The conference was also a moment to recognize Attorney Pepe’s work as ASMAC president 2023. He now will take on responsibilities as co-chair of the program committee with Attorney Lauren Bailey, general counsel of the Louisiana Medical Society. The beautiful glass bowl has a place of honor in our New Haven office.

Since we posted our intent to support National Estate Planning Awareness Week, Attorneys Amy B. Smith and William Sherman have fielded several interesting questions. In the interest of dispelling myths and helping others, they’ve written an article that, while it cannot answer specific situations, can help to get someone started on the path to avoiding dangerous assumptions. #NEPAW https://lnkd.in/eyYdkkgv

We're supporting National Estate Planning Awareness Week because assumptions about what happens when we are gone can damage relationships with family, have us miss out on possibilities, and prolong or exacerbate the grieving process for our loved ones. Having the right documents is important. Stay tuned for an article on the topic of estate planning, written by two of our leading attorneys in the field, Amy B. Smith and William Sherman. #NEPAW
