Thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough team representing Meta in working with Entergy to obtain energy service for this major data center in Louisiana.
My time at Entergy has been filled with amazing projects and initiatives, but nothing in my time here (or anywhere else) has been so transformative. After decades of "no," it was my great pleasure to work with our team and our friends at Meta to figure out how to get to "yes!" This announcement is but the beginning and I look forward to continuing to work for a brighter future for Louisiana. https://lnkd.in/gqaGhcap

Partner James (Jay) Rogers offered insight into Brazil’s proposed bill to legalize land-based casinos, bingo halls, horse track getting, and “numbers gambling” in an article published on Dec. 13 in Gambling Insider’s newsletter. “This bill further indicates that the primary regulator of the newly legalized gambling industry in Brazil will be the Economy Ministry, which will no doubt issue plenty of regulations to flesh out many aspects of this wide-ranging legislation,” said Rogers. “There is little doubt, however, that with passage of Bill 2234/22, Brazil will have taken a big, bold step into a new future.” Learn more and view the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ezABCwX4

The Florida Bar Board of Governors voted to remove the words “diversity and inclusion” from its organizational policy on Dec. 13. In a Bloomberg Law article, Fort Lauderdale partner Harsh Arora, Esq., a participant in the firm’s DEI work and former member of the bar’s terminated “Diversity & Inclusion Committee” explained the implications—the shift means firms and private groups must now fill the gaps. “My message is that now, more than ever, it’s the responsibility of the firms and the voluntary bars,” he said. “Attorneys are going to need to do their part—it’s just that source of funding, and the effort we put in, will be different now,” Arora said.
