Trauma Informed Community Development - helping people sustain opportunities and realize their potential.
About us
Our Mission Rooted in the Gospel and teachings of the Orthodox Church, inspired by the Civil Rights Movement (American 1950s-1960s), the mission of the Neighborhood Resilience Project is to support the transformation of neighborhoods from Trauma Affected Communities to Resilient Healing and Healthy Communities through Trauma Informed Community Development. As informed by the lived experience of trauma, both personal and collective, Trauma Informed Community Development is a framework that establishes and promotes resilient healing and healthy communities so that people can be healthy enough to sustain opportunity and realize their potential. Our Vision To inspire a movement in which suffering people are raised up from the ashes of trauma in unconditional love to become empowered healers, community builders, and positive change makers.

As 2024 wraps up, we at the Neighborhood Resilience Project want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters. With their help, thousands of people experienced a healing touch and discovered life changing resilience. As we look ahead to 2025, we're excited to continue this journey with you- supporting the healing and resilience of the broken hearted. Together we will continue to engage those who suffer the most among us to become empowered healers, community builders and positive change makers. There is still time to join us before the year ends!

On behalf of everyone at The Neighborhood Resilience Project, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to all our supporters for their generosity on Giving Tuesday. We can't thank you enough for all of your love and support. We can’t wait to see the beautiful fruit that comes from your giving in 2025 as we continue to care for the suffering and downtrodden in Allegheny County and beyond.

#GivingTuesday is today! This year, we invite you to begin or increase a monthly donation (https://buff.ly/2yvz8Dl). Your consistent giving means that someone who is hungry, cold, or alone will always be able to enter our doors and find food, warmth, and compassion. No matter the size or frequency of your gift, we hope you’ll join us today in supporting the most vulnerable members of our community.

It’s not too late! There is still time to begin or increase a monthly donation (https://buff.ly/2yvz8Dl) this #GivingTuesday. Every contribution helps feed the hungry and comfort the broken-hearted. And remember, we accept one-time donations too.

#GivingTuesday is tomorrow! We are so excited to support the needs of the most vulnerable among us on this national day of giving. This year, we invite you to join us by beginning or increasing a monthly donation of any size. No matter whether your gift is monthly or one-time, every little bit helps trauma-affected communities heal and transform and we are so grateful for your support!

Did you know that a gift of just $12 each month to the Neighborhood Resilience Project can ensure that a child has food every weekend? A gift of $43 per month can provide a patient of our Free Health Center with an essential monthly prescription and a gift of $100 per month can support our monthly clinics which provide free vaccinations to the community. On this #GivingTuesday, consider beginning or increasing a monthly donation to multiply the impact of your giving. And remember, we take one-time donations too! Any little bit, no matter how small, supports the transformation of trauma-affected communities. *#GivingTuesday is a national day of giving that happens annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. This year, it's December 3rd.
