NCREIF serves the institutional real estate investment community as a non-partisan collector, validator, aggregator, converter and disseminator of commercial real estate performance and benchmarking information. Our members include investment managers, investors, consultants, appraisers, academics, researchers and other professionals in the real estate investment management industry. NCREIF is a data service provider that meets its members' and the investment and academic community's need for high quality, transparent, timely and accurate commercial real estate data, performance measurement and benchmarking indices, investment analysis, reporting standards, research, education and peer group interaction, by: • Developing and producing performance measurement indices, benchmarks and actionable information related thereto; • Encouraging industry, academic and member use of NCREIF data for objective analysis and research; • Providing forums with strong educational content to address industry issues and to improve industry best practices; • Publishing informed, industry-related articles and reports; and • Contributing to the ongoing improvement of real estate Reporting Standards. NCREIF converts data to information directly relevant to its members and the industry, that is: • Built from property-specific and fund accounting data contributed by its members; • Confidential in its specificity, but transparently available to its members; • Focused primarily on domestic assets and investment vehicles; and • Driven and directed by the needs identified by its members.

NCREIF Academy 2024 Investment Analysis & Due Diligence October 17, 2024 - The Diplomat, Hollywood, FL The focus of this course will be analysis and due diligence for potential acquisition or disposition (hold‐sell analysis) of properties, including expectations of investment committees and investment committee memo structures. Students will learn key factors used to develop proforma assumptions, and learn how to calculate the key measures of return and investment value used by institutional investors, including the impact of leverage. Factors that impact investment risk including the lease structure, type of financing and market conditions will be discussed, including additional risks associated with development projects. An Excel spreadsheet proforma will be used to calculate risk measures, perform a sensitivity analysis, partition the IRR and perform a Monte Carlo simulation. NCREIF Academy 2024 Attribution and Risk Analysis October 14, 2024 - The Diplomat, Hollywood, FL This course is calculation oriented and hands-on with Excel spreadsheets. It delves deep into various methodologies of performance attribution and risk analysis. Students will learn to do traditional Brinson attribution analysis on a single and multi-period basis to understand why a fund performs differently from a benchmark. The course then examines all the various risk measures such as the Sharpe Ratio, Jensen’s Alpha, beta and other risk measures that can cause differences in performance. This will lead to the calculation of risk-adjusted returns and risk-adjusted attribution analysis.
