Check out the results from our biggest community giveback of the year, the Christmas Tree Ship! 🎄🎅🚢 We had a wonderful time and were able to support hundreds of local families through our community partners. Thank you to UToledo Health, presenting sponsor, and Port of Monroe, supporting sponsor, for also allowing us to open up the museum for free admission during the entire day's event.
Yesterday was simply magical… 🎄🎅🏽 it’s my favorite event of the year—the National Museum of the Great Lakes’ Christmas Tree Ship presentedby UToledo Health. Our gift to the community equals: 🎁 1 Lyman Holiday Float in the East Toledo Christmas Parade 🎁 The Geo. Gradel Company boatload delivery of nearly 30 trees to area families (thank you United Way of Greater Toledo 211 for sharing with families in need) 🎁 250 Healthy Hygiene kits soon to be delivered to individuals through our community partners (EAST TOLEDO FAMILY CENTER, INC., Family House, Sylvania Area Family Svc, and Lucas County Children Services) 🎁 And FREE admission, Santa visits, and SO MUCH FUN all daylong to over 300 visitors thank to UToledo Health and the Port of Monroe. It was a day to remember! Thank you to all those individuals who made it such a special event. 💙⚓ Capt. Paul LaMarre III, Jennifer Archer…you both made this day one for our organization to be especially proud of! THANK YOU!

We are so excited and proud of our partnership with Victory Cruise Lines and look forward to the opportunities to share our experience with Great Lakes cruise passengers in 2025! #GreatLakes #Partnership #ThisisToledo
With both onboard AND shore opportunities now—Victory Cruise Lines has made a commitment to our museum and our community. 💙⚓ The National Museum of the Great Lakes can't wait to welcome their cruise passengers to our museum and city during shore excursions by bus from Detroit! I couldn't be more proud to partner with Destination Toledo to ensure we highlight our city, and I’m thrilled to see Toledo’s excitement about this as The Blade’s Sunday front page article! What I love most about Victory Cruise Lines in particular, is their commitment to creating unique, one-of-kind experiences for their passengers to interact with Great Lakes history. And, they are supporting this effort by putting the National Museum of the Great Lakes front and center of their inaugural sailing season. Thank you Victory, for stepping it up a notch for your passenger experience. FULL ARTICLE 👇 https://lnkd.in/gW_vB7rH

Our Executive Director, Kate Fineske, gave an inspiring and exciting keynote presentation during the Destination Toledo Holiday Luncheon on Thursday. We are all looking forward to pursuing our vision of becoming the gathering place for Great Lakes conversations and helping position Toledo as not just the Glass City, but also the Great Lakes city! #partnership #youwilldobetterintoledo #greatlakes
In just over 30 minutes time, I watched as nearly 150 individuals made a exciting paradigm shift to see themselves living and working in not only the “Glass City” but also a “Great Lakes City.” ⚓️💙 I had such a wonderful time presenting a keynote address to a packed room today at Destination Toledo’s Annual Holiday Luncheon. The beautiful backdrop of the Maumee River from inside the exquisite Toledo Country Club made for a perfect venue. Toledo and our region is gearing up to become a part of a new vision—to be the gathering place of Great Lakes conversations! A special thanks to my National Museum of the Great Lakes colleagues (pictured) Sara Smith, Ellen Kennedy, Ashley Streichert Lovejoy, and Cris Shell for joining me at the luncheon and the incredible role they (and all our NMGL team members) play in advancing our mission. And also, thanks to Lance Woodworth, CDME and the Destination Toledo team for inviting me to share our vision. #YouWillDoBetterInToledo
