Great insight, Patrice! We often discuss this internally as well. Our company started in 2016 and we just launched our 5th generation of our kids smart watch phone. It's funny because when TikTok first blew up in like 2018/2019 we would get so many calls from pre-teens asking us to fix their accounts! 😅 We look forward to seeing any responses to your question!
A Case of TikTok vs. TickTalk: While listening to a podcast on my regularly scheduled morning walk, I heard a commercial for the "TikTok 5 Watch, in collaboration with iHeart Music", and assumed the product was a fix for parents who want to keep their kids safe while on social media. This intrigued me. So much so, that I made a note to write about it right here on LinkedIn. An hour or so later, I sat at my laptop to begin crafting the content. But, my Google search for "TikTok 5 Watch iHeart Music" yielded no relevant results. I dug a bit further, found a press release that was distributed 3 days ago, and realized that the brand's name is actually "TickTalk" 😫 Sure, I did my due diligence to find the product, but I can't say that I would have if I didn't already have the goal of creating content around the topic. I wonder if other interested audience members misheard the brand name, associated it with "TikTok" and then, moved on once they didn't immediately find what they needed. Or, maybe it was all done on purpose, as a way to reel people in and spark their interest. ➡️ So, I ask you, was this a branding win or fail? I'm looking forward to your thoughts. What a great way to teach the power of teamwork and beauty in finding others to help find yourself 😍 .
A university professor posed a challenge to his students. Each of them had a balloon with their name. The balloons would fall from the ceiling and they would have 5 minutes to find theirs. If everyone found the one with their name, they won... if not, they lost. Although they tried with all their energy to find them, no one succeeded. The teacher put the balloons back and told them, "When you catch a balloon, give it to its owner". The test took less than 3 minutes to complete. The teacher finished by saying, "Happiness is like these balloons. If each of us looks only for our own, we will never find it. But if we look for others', we will also find ours."
