Today, Griffin Museum of Science and Industry proudly hosted a naturalization ceremony, celebrating new U.S. citizens and their inspiring journeys.   One of the things I love most about Chicago is the rich tapestry of our diverse communities. Each story adds to the vibrant mosaic that makes our city so special, and we are so honored to be able to be a part of those stories. Here’s to hope, new beginnings and endless opportunities ahead! 🌟

We’re thrilled to welcome the Obama Presidential Center to the neighborhood! 🌟 Recently, members of Griffin MSI’s leadership team had the honor of touring the building’s construction site alongside local leaders and changemakers. 🎄🌟 The holiday season has officially begun at Griffin MSI! Last weekend, we lit up our dazzling four-story Grand Tree to kick off Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light. We were honored to host some amazing guests, including Congresswoman Robin Kelly, Moana 2 actor Hualālai Chung, producer Christina Chen, America’s Got Talent star Liv Warfield—and even Santa stopped by to join the fun! 🎅🏾 Thank you to everyone who joined us, and we hope to see you throughout the holiday season to honor the diverse celebrations that connect us all.

Astronaut John Herrington made history when he became the first Native American in space aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour's STS-113 mission. Proudly representing the Chickasaw Nation, Herrington carried its flag and several personal items, including a traditional flute, on his trip to space. One of our favorite ways to bring our community together is through our annual Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light celebration. This annual tradition began in 1942 with a single tree representing ally countries during WWII. Today, it has grown to more than 55 trees, each reflecting a culture with roots in Chicago, and each reminding us of the shared stories and traditions that bring us together.  Thank you to Wintrust Financial Corporation and ABC News for helping us spotlight our story and supporting our mission to inspire the inventive genius in everyone.    I’m excited to kick off this celebration and the holiday season on November 16 with our annual Tree Lighting & Cultural Festival.
