I was heartbroken: → Blisters the size of Montana → Tears with every step 2 weeks into my Pacific Crest Trail hike, my body was falling apart. I wasn’t ready to quit. I wanted to keep going. But I couldn't when I cried with every step. I felt like a failure. And then, kindness showed up. A woman I hadn’t spoken to in over 20 years, someone I grew up with in a tiny Alaskan town, drove 2 hours from San Diego to help me. She brought: ➡️ A fresh salad (every thru-hiker’s dream) ➡️ Magic blister repair supplies ➡️ Pizza and beer Her kindness shifted everything: ► I stopped feeling sorry for myself ► I started believing I could do this That day, I promised myself: If kindness could lift me up when I needed it most, I’d make it my mission to spread that same kindness wherever I could. ✨ Because kindness is contagious Here are 3 ways to spread kindness today: 1️⃣ Think kind thoughts ↳ Assume the best in others ↳ That internal shift will change how you approach every interaction 2️⃣ Be someone’s unexpected support ↳ Offer a hand, send a text ↳ Reach out—even if it’s been years ↳ Your small action could mean the world to them 3️⃣ Go the extra mile ↳ Literally or figuratively ↳Take that extra step to help someone, even when it’s inconvenient The trail taught me this: ► Kindness doesn’t just help others—it gives them the strength to keep moving forward What’s one moment of kindness that changed your path? Let me know👇 P.S. The magic blister repair worked. Three days later, I was back on the trail, stronger than ever.

AI isn’t a magic bullet for summarizing scientific papers. Don’t trust it blindly. Sure, AI can save you tons of time summarizing papers, but there's a catch: ► It’s not always perfect. If you’re relying too heavily on AI without double-checking, you might end up with incomplete or misleading information. Here’s what to watch out for when using AI to summarize papers: ⚠️ AI makes mistakes: ↳ It can miss critical details or oversimplify data. ↳ Always verify important points with the original text. ⚠️ Context matters: ↳ AI can struggle with nuance, especially with scientific data. ↳ It’s up to you to ensure the context is right. ⚠️ Pick the right tool: ↳ Not all AI is built for scientific papers. ↳ Look for tools tailored to scientific publications. Think of AI as a helper, not a replacement. It speeds up your review process, but your expertise is still key. Here's the solution. Use tools with features like: → Highlighting where the info is pulled from in the paper to make double-checking easy → Designed to work with papers, so it's better with the nuance How do you make sure you’re getting the right information from AI? Let’s chat in the comments! Get more tips on using AI to stay on top of the literature on the Medical Affairs Value Blog. Link below.
