Those with spinal cord injuries may face additional challenges in staying warm. Due to their injury, they may have impaired circulation or sensation, making them more susceptible to the cold. However, there are ways to combat this and stay cozy. ◾ Wearing multiple layers of loose-fitting clothing can trap warm air close to the body, while heated blankets or pads can provide localized warmth. ◾ Keep the home at a comfortable temperature and avoid drafts. ◾ Consider investing in electric-heated clothing or blankets, such as heating pads or socks, to provide additional warmth. With these tips, those with spinal cord injuries can enjoy a warm and comfortable winter season. #WinterSeason #StayWarm #SCIQuickTips #MortonCureParalysisFund

The holiday season can be stressful for many, especially for those with wheelchairs who plan on traveling during the holidays. Taking a plane is one of the fastest ways to get to where you are going. But getting in and out of airports, long waits at security checkpoints, and baggage restrictions can make flying challenging when you are in a wheelchair. So, if you're traveling this holiday season - here are a few quick tips to help make your trip a little easier. 1. Arrive extra early. Plan to arrive around 2-3 hours before your flight. 2. Sit near the front. Ensure you can get an accessible seat or speak with an attendant at the gate. 3. Be one of the first to board so you have plenty of time to find your seat and settle. Are you going anywhere exciting this holiday season? We'd love to hear it! So please share with us in the comments below. #Traveling #WheelchairQuickTips #HolidayTravels #MortonCureParalysisFund
