Individualized treatment recognizes that each person's journey with addiction is unique, requiring a personalized approach to address underlying issues, co-occurring mental health conditions, and other contributing factors. While some individuals may respond positively to a shorter intervention, others may need a more extended, intensive, or flexible treatment plan. #morethan28 #recovery #mentalhealth #addiction #mentalhealthawareness #sobriety #addictiontreatment #addictionrecovery

This is so important. Like many specialties, Addiction Psychiatry/Psychology faces a shortage of skilled clinicians. The pandemic lockdowns exacerbated the need for a large, qualified workforce. No one should have to continue to suffer because of waiting lists.
“The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) released a new Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to expand the number of fellows at accredited Addiction Medicine Fellowship (AMF) and Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship (APF) programs trained as addiction medicine specialists who work in underserved, community-based settings that integrate primary care with mental health disorders and substance use disorder prevention and treatment services.” To learn more: https://lnkd.in/e7hHCCXZ

January is Mental Wellness Month, learn how to cope with Seasonal Affective Disorder with these helpful tips. 🌧️✨ **Coping with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)** ✨🌧️ As the days get shorter and the weather gets colder, many of us may find ourselves feeling a little down or low in energy. If you’re experiencing these seasonal mood shifts, you’re not alone. 🌿 Here are a few simple strategies to help lift your mood and cope with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): 1. **Embrace Light** 🌞 - Try to get as much natural sunlight as possible. Even a 15-20 minute walk outside can help boost your mood. If it's hard to get enough sunlight, consider a light therapy box to mimic natural light. 2. **Stay Active** 💪 - Exercise is one of the best natural mood boosters. Whether it's yoga, walking, or dancing around your living room, moving your body can help reduce stress and increase happiness. 3. **Connect with Loved Ones** 💬 - Isolation can make SAD worse. Reach out to friends and family, even if it's just a quick text or chat. Feeling connected can help combat loneliness and lift your spirits. 4. **Maintain a Routine** 📅 - A consistent daily routine can provide a sense of structure and stability, which is especially helpful when everything feels out of sync. 5. **Prioritize Self-Care** 🛁 - Take time for yourself. Whether it’s a warm bath, reading a book, or practicing mindfulness, doing things you enjoy can help bring a sense of calm and comfort. 6. **Consider Professional Support** 🧠 - If you’re finding it hard to manage, speaking to a therapist or healthcare provider can help. Sometimes, treatment options like counseling or medication can make a big difference. Remember, it’s okay to not feel okay all the time. You’re doing your best, and it's important to be kind to yourself. 💙 Let’s support each other through these colder months and remind ourselves that brighter days are ahead, contact Encore today! #SAD #SelfCare #MentalHealthMatters #YouAreNotAlone #SeasonalAffectiveDisorder #CopingStrategies #Sober #Recovery #RecoveryWorks #NewYear If you or anyone you know in the Greater Northern Virginia area are in need of assessment for substance use treatment Encore is actively accepting new clients for IOP as well as OP levels of care. www.encorerecovery.com (703) 436-8158

This is a great blog post to consider as we move into "dry January." I particularly liked this question, "Is alcohol moving me closer to the life I want to be living?" I hope your 2025 gives you a new opportunity to live the life you want. If you need help, ask for it.
Have you ever googled this question? If so, take 5 minutes and give this article a read. https://lnkd.in/eynC6HKB #sober #sobriety #sobersupport
