It's exciting to see that Puget Sound Energy (PSE) has signed a nonbinding memorandum of understanding to join the development of the North Plains Connector (NPC) transmission project. This agreement will see PSE owning the largest share of the 420-mile, 3,000-megawatt HVDC transmission line, enhancing the reliability and resilience of the Western energy grid. The NPC will establish the first transmission link among the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC), and the Southwest Power Pool (SPP), providing additional flexibility and resource sharing across multiple western states. This interregional transmission project exemplifies grid modernization: Enhancing grid resilience by expanding access to renewable energy sources and making the grid more adaptable, particularly during critical periods. By modernizing the connectivity and flexibility of our energy infrastructure, we are better equipped to handle peak demands and ensure a stable energy supply for all. Congratulations to PSE and all the partners involved in this groundbreaking initiative! https://lnkd.in/g-QyrrMY #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #Innovation #EnergyTransition #NorthPlainsConnector
