Mitsui & Co. is proud to invest in Heirloom Carbon Technologies, a leader in direct air capture (DAC) technology – a groundbreaking method that removes carbon dioxide (CO2) directly from the atmosphere to help achieve global net-zero emissions. Heirloom’s first U.S. commercial DAC plant in California can capture 1,000 tons of CO2 per year, with larger facilities under development in Louisiana, aiming for a total capacity of 300,000 tons annually. DAC is transformative because of its scalability, flexibility in siting, and ability to directly tackle historic emissions, making it a key tool in the fight against climate change. Through its investment in and future collaboration with Heirloom, we aim to deepen our DAC knowledge and use DAC technology to create a carbon management industry with integrated strengths. Amazing Experience at PackExpo Chicago!
