The mission of Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy is to use law, science, and research to protect Minnesota’s environment, its natural resources, and the health of its people. MCEA envisions clean water, clean air, healthy ecosystems, a sustainable economy, and improved public health for all Minnesotans. We are committed to growing our capacity and impact to achieve measurable progress toward this vision. For 50 years, we’ve worked at the legislature, in the courts, and with public agencies to enact, strengthen, and enforce smart environmental laws. MCEA is the leading legal voice protecting Minnesota’s environment, with deep organizational expertise that includes some of the foremost environmental law and policy professionals in the state. We work on many different issues, especially water, land use & transportation, clean energy, natural resources, and mining. MCEA staffers visited our partner in the Zero Waste coalition, Eureka Recycling. Eureka is a mission-driven non-profit that is dedicated to driving our society towards zero waste. We toured the recycling center in Minneapolis where Eureka employees sort our recycling into valuable material streams that end up in products mainly within Minnesota.
