Manufactured using the #Proxxima™ system by ExxonMobil and the #McCLARINRTM process, these parts deliver exceptional performance and quality.    At the heart of the Nowicki Concept8 lightweight and resilient components is the #ExxonMobil Proxxima™ R3630 C32 resin system. This advanced polyolefin thermoset resin, combined with RTM (resin transfer molding) technology by McCLARIN, efficiently and consistently produces high-strength composites. Proxxima™, rooted in novel polyolefin chemistry, has less than half the GHG emissions than many traditional thermoset resins** on a cradle-to-gate basis while meeting the rigorous demands of high-performance automotive platforms. Building from the strategic collaboration and asset purchase completed during #CAMX last year, McCLARIN Composites and the #Proxxima™ business of #ExxonMobil have now executed a Joint Development Agreement for high-speed machine-driven Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) of composites based on the Proxxima™ polyolefin thermoset system. The project will include a multi-million-dollar investment in dedicated RTM assets at its Oklahoma facility. #McClarinComposites has selected its equipment partners building on demonstrated success of existing equipment in Pennsylvania and Oklahoma. McCLARIN is engaged with several OEMs in Mobility and the Built Environment for Tier 1 supply from what will be a more sustainable and cost-competitive platform.    This disruptive technology is targeted as an alternative to traditional SMC applications, bringing #Tougher, #Lighter, #Faster, #Stronger parts which all combine to reduce total life cycle cost. Further, responding to increased supplier sustainability criteria, the project will have lower carbon emissions as Proxxima™, rooted in novel polyolefin chemistry, has less than half the GHG emissions than many traditional thermoset resins on a cradle-to-gate basis (https://lnkd.in/geSKvPEn). In addition, ExxonMobil shared at the show that Proxxima™ polymer and infusion mixed plastic scrap are compatible with the current #Exxtend™ technology for advanced recycling which opens a potential end-of-life pathway for this program. #RTM #mobility #builtenvironment #sustainability

We were honored to host Dan Horning, U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker’s Legislative Assistant, at McCLARIN Composites in Hanover PA today. Dan’s visit fulfilled a commitment to help us sustain engagement from the #ACMA Fly-In this past February! Special thanks also to ACMA’s @DanNeumann for arranging this meeting and tour, which sparked dynamic discussion on needs and opportunities in infrastructure, workforce development, R&D and other manufacturing tax credits, and automation in composites manufacturing. We shared data on McCLARIN’s growing economic impact through sales and purchases in our region. We outlined McCLARIN’s commitment to robust Integrated Management Systems, including Health & Safety, Quality, Environment, and Sustainability through the DNV ISRSTM platform, as well as progress toward meeting the ESG criteria of our growing target markets in Mobility and the Built Environment, as rated by EcoVadis™️.
