Dexcom recently announced a partnership with Oura aiming to help people improve their metabolic health by integrating Dexcom glucose data with vital sign, sleep, stress, heart health and activity data from the Oura Ring. I remember as a kid in the 1980s seeing news reports highlighting all of the promises around #artificialhearts — only to see the hope slip away. It's encouraging, then, to see a new generation of the technology advancing. BiVACOR reports that five patients received its Total Artificial Heart (TAH) between July and November as part of an #FDA early feasibility study. The study is now greenlighted to expand. Pulmonary embolism startup Flow Medical has closed a $5 million oversubscribed seed round, with the multifunction thrombolysis catheter developer announcing participation from UChicago Medicine's UCM Ventures. “We’re tremendously excited to have the fuel to be able to go after this market, which is really dynamic and changing very quickly,” Flow Medical co-founder and CEO Jennifer Fried said in an interview.
