Recently Mascoma Bank team members participated in a session with The Mars Hill Group about accessibility, disability awareness, and inclusion. While talking about ways that we can include others and be aware of both visible and invisible disabilities, Wealth Advisor Michael Hemingway offered insight from coaching youth sports. Instead of asking players "what do you need?" and potentially putting them on the spot, he started asking "how can I help you be your best?" It's a question that applies to everyone, so it's inclusive and creates a safe environment in which people can share.
