MFA Premieres Gallery Exhibit by Student Artist, Sienna DelConte Each year MFA is proud to host an artist in residence and this year we welcomed Sienna DelConte, a recent graduate from the The University of Texas at Austin with a Fine Art degree. Sienna began working in the MFA studio during her senior year and committed to tireless hours to create a stunning body of work focused primarily on her love of music. Her love of music artistry is poured into the process of her subject matter and we often witnessed the metamorphosis of her style and approach which has culminated in a beautiful body of work. She began each piece with tremendous thought and passion. This is evident, as an example, with the process by which she paints the musician’s hands so that you can feel the struggle, the passion, the pain, the movement, and almost the magic the musician's hands are producing. Her strokes are about intensity and you can almost hear the music as Sienna directs the brush, commanding line, layering, and color to electrify us through her love of music and her language as a painter. It has been a pleasure to watch her embrace and approach each day to become such a spirited and confident artist in such a short period of time which will no doubt set a course for her future success. Congratulations Sienna!
