  • This recently released Harvard Business Review article on work place loneliness is a must read...https://bit.ly/4hwsq0x Co-Authors Constance Noonan Hadley and Sarah L. Wright present validated research that debunks long held beliefs - but also offer recommendations to develop a company culture of connectivity. Companies committed to workplace wellbeing will be interested in the 'Work Loneliness Scale" included in the article, to identify the levels of loneliness within an organisation. Sarah was Co-Author of the key article on the meaningful work research that validated the Map of Meaning® 25 years ago! The resulting book " The Map of Meaningful Work", authored by researcher Professor Marjo Kips-Wiersma, and Lani Morris, is a valuable tool for all 👉 https://bit.ly/4hNc8kf It is fantastic that Sarah and her colleagues continue to undertake quantitative research into what makes work meaningful. The need for organisational change in this space has been known for decades, but the wheels of progress remain slow, despite excellent validated research and resulting frameworks for implementation such as the Map of Meaning®. #humanresources #corporatewellness #thoughtleadership #meaningfullife

Only two in 10 employees strongly agree that they feel connected to their organization’s culture. Fortunately, Gallup knows what factors have the biggest effect on one's connection to workplace culture and ability to rate one’s company culture as “excellent.”  When employees strongly agree that they know what their organization stands for and what makes their brand different from competitors, they are 11.3 times as likely to strongly agree that they feel connected to their organization’s culture. Additionally, when employees strongly agree that their leaders are committed to their cultural values, they are 9.8 times as likely to rate the culture of their workplace as “excellent.”  What matters most when it comes to culture is that the culture is clear, consistent, communicated and authentically lived by leadership. • The Map of Meaningful Work is written for anyone who is interested in creating more meaning and purpose in work and organisations. It is for those searching for ways to revitalise their work, and workplaces or change their careers, or their organisations. It is for anyone who firmly believes that it must be possible to align our deeper life purposes with our daily actions in the workplace. “This is an important book, as it helps one orientate their career and work-life balance in line with their values and beliefs. It is a rigorous book, thoroughly researched and evidence based, tried out and tested in various organizational sectors, in different countries and with a range of professions. It is also a 'dangerous' book, as it confronts the reader with their inner most sense of being and challenges them to an intimate conversation with their self. The human resource professional who wishes to work with human beings rather than with human resources, will find in this book a useful and easily accessible tool, with numerous illustrations, to help people on their career journeys inside and outside work. Highly recommended.” Yochanan Altman, Senior Professor, Bordeaux School of Management; Research Professor, London Metropolitan University; Visiting Professor, Sorbonne Universities (Pantheon-Assas); Founding Editor, Journal of Management, Spirituality & Religion; European Editor, People & Strategy Buy the book here: https://lnkd.in/g5pPzqdP #thoughtleadership #changemanagement #careerdevelopment #professionalgrowth #emergingtrends
