  • nuevo capítulo sobre los CDE 👏👏

🎙️ New Podcast Episode Alert! 🎧 Episode 4: CDE - Collaborating in BIM - The Importance of a Common Data Environment In our latest episode of Mama! I Wanna Be BIM Manager, we dive deep into the role of a Common Data Environment (CDE) and how it can revolutionize collaboration on construction projects. From minimizing costly errors to streamlining communication, a well-managed CDE can be a game changer—but only if it’s implemented correctly. What You’ll Learn: 🔍 What is a CDE? Why it’s the central hub for project data and how to set it up. 🤝 Collaboration & Decision-Making: How CDEs improve teamwork across locations and disciplines. ⚠️ Risk & Error Management: Avoiding delays, rework, and compliance issues with the right CDE setup. 📂 Best Practices: From file-naming standards to permissions management and automation. 🔧 Troubleshooting & Lessons Learned: Real project stories, challenges faced, and how we fixed them. Real-World Examples from projects in Barcelona, Milan, Lisbon, and beyond highlight the practical impact of using a CDE effectively. 🎧 Listen now: https://lnkd.in/d2YC6PDJ 💬 Join the conversation! • ISO 19650 for Project Management

View profile for Fernando Leon, graphic

As a dedicated Revit BIM Specialist, I possess a strong enthusiasm for Building Information Modeling and Revit software. My focus lies in utilizing these to enhance and streamline both design and construction workflows.

ISO 19650 :) - ISO 19650 is an international standard that provides a framework for the organization and digitization of information related to buildings and civil engineering works, including the management of information throughout the lifecycle of a project. This standard emphasizes the importance of collaborative working and the effective use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to enhance project delivery and efficiency. - The standard is divided into several parts, each addressing different aspects of information management. Part 1 outlines the concepts and principles of information management, while Part 2 focuses on the delivery phase of assets, detailing the processes and responsibilities involved in managing information during the design, construction, and handover stages. - Implementing ISO 19650 can lead to significant improvements in project outcomes, including reduced risks, enhanced communication among stakeholders, and better decision-making through the availability of accurate and timely information. Organizations adopting this standard can achieve greater consistency and reliability in their information management practices, ultimately contributing to the successful delivery of construction projects.

#InteligenciaArtificial #AECO #Arquitectura #BIM #Productividad

    Turning BIM-possible into BIM-probable!

One of the most intricate challenges we face in OpenBIM Projects is handling room data when working with Revit and IFC models. Importing IFC room data into Revit can often lead to frustrating issues, from missing boundaries to lost data. Right now, my only workaround is manually fixing room boundaries in Revit after importing the IFC. Not ideal, but it keeps the project on track. ❓ Anyone got tips? How are you handling this? Any tricks or tools that make this smoother? Drop your thoughts below, I’d love to hear how you’re tackling this challenge!

  • openBIM Standards promoted by buildingSMART International

View profile for Nicolas Arellano, graphic

Architect | Ph.D. candidate at Carleton University | Research Team Lead at CIMS | Canada's Digital Twin

buildingSMART International promotes multiple openBIM standards/schemas. The 3 more popular are: IFC = Industry Foundation Classes IDS = Information Delivery Specification BCF = BIM Collaboration Format Canada's Digital Twin Platform integrates and promotes them all. Soon you will be able to open IFC, check them with IDS and communicate issues with BCF for free. In this video we wanted to share a simple tool developed by CIMS (Carleton Immersive Media Studio) to check IFCs just by using the CLI (Command Line Interface). Download it here: https://lnkd.in/eeWzCehZ and follow the steps to use. Big thanks to That Open Company for this valuable lesson at #GetTheCode. #CanadasDigitalTwin #cimslab #openbim #openSourceSoftware

The Electrical Domain has published an Industry Insight titled "Electrifying openBIM". Find out how they outline their mission: "to enhance building performance by integrating the power of electrical systems into the very fabric of building design. And how do we achieve this? By properly using openBIM standards, the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) and restructuring the way we approach building design and operation. To guide our journey and validate our approaches, we lean on relevant use cases that reveal practical insights. These cases highlight both challenges and solutions to align our strategies with real-world scenarios." Read the Industry Insight here: https://lnkd.in/eQp9zWUD Christian G. How is this even possible 😳 A new version of the “ai assistants” plug-in will be introduced in our next workshop in combination with Ladybug tools. Register for the workshop at https://lnkd.in/eB6SF5TU Some of the improvements are the possibility to allow ChatGPT to run your Grasshopper script several times with one unique prompt to do comparative analysis or the possibility to manually modify the geometry produced by ChatGPT. #LadybugTools #IBPSA #IBPSAUSA #ASHRAE #Rhino3D #GH3D #IESVE #DesignBuilder #Forma #AI #ChatGPT
