  • “My vest allows me to look back at how far I have come through my journey. Each badge and pin have a story behind them, and they each represent a piece of the future I am building here! I’ll never forget my first service star badge. It was my first week on the floor, and my store manager told me a customer filled out a survey recognizing me for how helpful I was during their trip to the store. That was in 2020. Now, I’m proud to have my own key to the building as Department Supervisor. The increase in responsibility has been meaningful for me to see that my hard work has resulted in me being trusted to truly build a career here.” - Ford W., Front End Department Supervisor #LowesLife

  • I never imagined that I would take a role as store manager when I began here in 2005 as a part-time cashier. Thankfully, I had two store managers that saw I had some spunk - in their words - to move up in the company. Without their push and belief in me, I am not sure where my career would have gone. Once I became a leader in the stores, it was my mission to give the people I led the same push and belief. I will never forget when two of my head cashiers called me to tell me that they had both been promoted to operations managers in separate locations. They told me that without my care and push, they would have never thought to move up in the company. If there is one thing I have learned in my career, it is that it is amazing what you can do when someone believes in you! – Melinda H., Store Manager #LowesLife

  • Rookie of the Quarter 🏆🛠️ "For me, motivation is all about purpose. Growing up, my parents used the power of words to uplift and inspire others. They taught me that real impact comes from serving others. I’m motivated by the opportunity to positively influence people's lives, and I know I can do that where I am now. Receiving this award proves I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. It’s a reminder that struggles are just stepping stones toward a bigger purpose. Success isn’t reaching a specific destination — it’s a journey toward becoming the best version of yourself, and that’s what drives me every day." - Sam B., Sales Specialist #LowesLife

  • “Serving in the military taught me lessons that have influenced many areas of my life. None was more impactful than the concept “mind over matter. My military service consistently put me in circumstances where I had to learn to believe and trust that I am mentally capable of overcoming any challenge in my path. This lesson is not an easy one to learn, it requires you to be put in situations where you may doubt yourself and yet you must push to overcome those obstacles. Those experiences began to build a resiliency that has impacted my life and my career here. The military taught me how to unlock the power of my mind, that lesson now gives me great confidence to act swiftly when necessary, make sound decisions, and stay poised even in the most stressful environments.” - James W., Sr. Analyst - Store Ops Execution Support #LowesLife

  • As my military service was coming to an end, my biggest concern was supporting not only my wife and I, but a little one on the way. I knew I didn’t want to continue working in the munitions' field after retirement, but I also knew that I needed experience in the corporate world to make the move I was looking for. That is when I found the SkillBridge Fellowship. It’s a 12-week program designed to bring military skills and experience to the civilian sector. This program changed what life after the military looked like for me as I began to experience the corporate environment and that has been the foundation for my career here. When I completed the program and received a full-time job offer, I was overcome with gratitude. I can’t say enough how thankful I was and still am to those who had a hand in my journey. I now have a sense of stability and comfort knowing I can provide for the new addition to our family and maintain the same lifestyle I had before leaving the military.” – John D., Senior Information Security Analyst #LowesMilitary #LowesLife
