Turtwig is kicking off 2025 with a big smile! 😁✨ This subadult green sea turtle was first spotted by Inwater Research Group, Inc. back in 2009. Due to a buoyancy issue, Turtwig became a permanent resident and now thrives in the deep dive tank. Stop by and say hello. Welcome to Florida! 🐢✈️ This Friday, we received 20 cold-stunned juvenile Kemp’s ridley sea turtles, transported all the way from Boston. A sudden drop in water temperatures caused an influx of cold-stunned sea turtle cases at the New England Aquarium. Thanks to TURTLES FLY TOO and their volunteer pilots, the turtles were transported to marine medical facilities across Florida for critical care and rehabilitation. The rescue mission was made in memory of Bonnie Freeman who tragically passed away at the age of 12 from T-cell leukemia in 1983.
