I love our Live Like Roo Foundation Marathon team so much. Natalia is our captain and has helped me make the best decisions for our team all the way down to what to have as grab and gos on race day! Last year, I had tears watching our team's dreams come true! It is so inspiring. Thank you Natalia for all you do to help animals with cancer and for being a friend for so many years!

Outside of education, I love few things more than running and dogs. Most years, I train for the Chicago Marathon with a close group of friends. I've also had the pleasure of being the co-captain of the team that runs for the Live Like Roo Foundation this year. Last year, there were ten of us. This year, there are 30. I never got to meet Roo, but my dog did, and I've known the founder, Sarah, since 2015. She was the person who noticed Huck at animal control and got his medical needs sponsored so that a rescue could take him in. To say I am grateful to her is an understatement. Now, the Live Like Roo Foundation provides emotional and financial support to people whose pets have cancer diagnoses. I leave the link to my fundraising page. Consider donating to this local organization, or share it with your networks and anyone interested in their cause. If nothing else, read up about Roo and let it remind you of the power one pet can have and the love they bring to our lives (and us to theirs). #livelikeroo
