[AI Consumer Insights from UC Berkeley 🐻] This past semester, I had the privilege of partnering with student ambassadors and collaborating with 35 student organizations across California. To better understand how students are integrating AI into their academic lives, Liner and couple student organizations conducted a survey with UC Berkeley students. Here are some insightful takeaways from the survey: 1️⃣ ChatGPT's Dominance ChatGPT emerged as a top choice across Search, Writing, and Coding. Interestingly, students selected ChatGPT the most often for writing tasks, so we featured ChatGPT under the "Writing" section in the AI tools map. 2️⃣ Writing & Homework Help Lead the Way More than 90% of surveyed students are leveraging AI for: (2-1) ✍️ Writing Assistance: Tools like Grammarly and QuillBot stood out alongside ChatGPT. (2-2) 📚 Homework Help: Apart from ChatGPTs dominance, students relied heavily on Brainly and Chegg Inc.. 3️⃣ Google Translate Still Dominates Translation While ChatGPT is versatile, it wasn’t the go-to for translation tasks. Students overwhelmingly preferred Google Translate, with DeepL rounding out the Top 3. 4️⃣ AI Search: The Rising Competition The top 3 tools in AI search were: ChatGPT, Liner, Perplexity. Curious which tools are being heavily used in other campuses. We'll survey a wider scope of campuses across the U.S. to gain more insights next semester. ========== Thank you for ambassadors and partners for helping with the survey! 🎓 AI Tools for Students: Insights from UC Berkeley This semester, we had the incredible opportunity to work with UC Berkeley’s student network through Liner's campus ambassador program and partnerships with student organizations. Together, we surveyed to better understand what AI tools students are using in their academic lives. The results? Students are turning to AI for search, homework help, writing, coding, and even graphic design—and the variety of tools they rely on shows just how integral AI has become to education. We’re thrilled to see Liner featured in the top spot for search! A huge thank you to the Berkeley student organizations that partnered with us on this project. At Liner, we’re proud to lead the way in AI search for students, helping them find credible, reliable information to succeed. 🚀Which tools are you excited to see on this list?

I recently sat down with Zain Kahn and Hassan W. Bhatti on their podcast Superhuman AI, where we went deep on: ▷ strategic product decisions we’ve made as we’ve evolved into an AI search tool ▷ why we relocated to Silicon Valley, but maintain strong ties internationally ▷ how we remain competitive in a crowded landscape filled with lots of players It was a great conversation – give it a listen! https://lnkd.in/gnqB2GVG
